How To Cut Watermelon

how to cut watermelon

Here is the easiest way to cut a watermelon! I used to be so intimidated because of the size but is the easiest method I have found. PLUS, your knife skills are probably much better than mine. If you want to reduce waste, be sure to take a spoon and scoop out the rest of the melon from the rind!

  1. Cut off both ends

    1. Start off by cutting off both ends of the watermelon. This will save you a lot of hassle, especially when you are cutting off the sides.

  2. Put the watermelon one one of the ends

This gives you stability for the rest of the steps.

  3. Remove the rind

Cut down at an angle towards the cutting board to remove the rind. It took me about four cuts to make it all the way around the watermelon. If you do not want to waste the flesh left over on the rind, use a spoon to scoop it off!

  4. Trim off the white flesh

You don’t have to, but I was never a fan of too much white flesh in my watermelons slice.

  5. Cut in half

Cut it on either side, the choice is yours but I chose do cut the longer side.

  6. Slice into bite sized pieces

Cut them as small as you’d like here!

I hope this makes cutting a watermelon much easier for you!
